Standing imposingly on Southwark Street in the trendy Borough Market area, just a stone’s throw from London Bridge Station, The Hop Exchange is a Grade II listed building offering a wealth of character and versatility, whatever your event may be.

Opened in 1867 and designed by R.H. Moore it served as the centre for hop trading for the brewing industry. The building has been meticulously and faithfully restored cherishing the original architecture and atmosphere and is a unique survival in London, of a building type that was once so important in the commercial life of the metropolis in the 19th century.

The central feature of the building is the elegant Atrium which provides a magnificent setting. The Atrium offers 12m x 24m of space, full of natural daylight which floods through the glass roof allowing summer parties to take advantage of beautiful sunsets and winter events are given a starlit cover.

Working with some of the best event suppliers in the business for event management, themed parties, lighting, entertainment and catering, the Hop Exchange is the perfect backdrop for that special occasion.

PLEASE NOTE: The Hop Exchange is available to hire for evening functions only. This is due to the building being in use as offices during the day. As a dry hire venue all equipment, furniture and production is hired in, giving you the opportunity to completely tailor make your event to suit your specific requirements.
