Set in scenic parkland, Wivenhoe House is situated in the grounds of the University of Essex, on the outskirts of historic Colchester and within easy access of London, East Anglia, Stansted airport and Harwich International Port.

Wivenhoe House offers three exclusive rooms and a contemporary Garden Suite for events. Our team, including those from Edge Hotel School, are our biggest asset. Together, we will ensure you have a great stay with us, from your first step through the door until we wave you goodbye.

Take your party or work event to our gorgeous grounds and enjoy an afternoon of flowing drinks and delicious food in the summer sun. We offer a wide range of summer packages that take full advantage of our fabulous parkland setting. Our beautiful garden gazebo is located on the sunken lawn, and is perfect for a wedding in the summer season.

The Garden Suite. Our largest space and the perfect location for a large meetings, conferences, weddings and celebrations. Offering great flexibility with 3 spacious rooms separated by removable partitioned walls. Each room has easy access to a private courtyard through beautiful glass doors making the Suite light and airy.

Drawing Room. A beautiful space complete with high ceilings, bay windows, period architecture and views overlooking the parklands.

Signatures Room. A more traditional styled room with high-ceilings and large windows overlooking the parklands.

Capacities: Theatre 60 / Cabaret 25 / Dining 50 / Reception 80

Accommodation. Wivenhoe House has 16 en suite bedrooms in the main house. All lovingly restored to reflect and celebrate the original 18th-century architecture of our beautiful building. There are 24 bedrooms in our contemporary Garden Wing. All have a modern twist with private balconies overlooking the grounds.
