Kent House Knightsbridge has a rich and royal history. The first house was built in 1790 and rented by Prince Edward the Duke of Kent who enlarged it and (modestly!) named it after his own title. He installed his mistress in the house and had a tunnel built underneath the road linking the house to Kensington Palace to enable secret rendezvous. The last occupant of the second house built was Lady Noble who transformed the first floor drawing rooms into a remarkable Salon.

In recent years the venue has undergone a restoration plan and with its beautiful interiors, is now considered among the best of venues for hire in London.

The Sanctuary, at first floor level, is the largest single space with three inter-connecting rooms and floor to ceiling windows. The Sanctuary was used as a Ballroom in the early part of the 20th century and now provides an elegant, neutral backdrop and highly flexible space as it can be used in a variety of formats or as one wide space opening out onto our terrace. In keeping with the sympathetic refurbishment of Kent House Knightsbridge in 2003, The Sanctuary retains the essence of architectural scale and splendour that characterises this splendid venue and is a highly flexible space for dining and dancing and is also very popular for daytime corporate events including fashion shows.
